Celebrate Earth Day with almost zero effort

Sustainability doesn't have to be hard.

Planning to brush your teeth to start the day? Turn off the faucet while you brush. If you do that every day for the whole month, it'll conserve about 200 gallons of water (That was easy, huh?)

Bum a ride with someone to work. Responsible people call it carpooling, but either way, it saves on the amount of carbon monoxide emitted into the environment.

Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Double bonus: it's good for your health.

Grab lunch from somewhere local. It takes a lot of fossil fuels to get fresh produce to snowy Minnesota year round and seafood to Kansas. Food that's sourced locally doesn't take as much of a toll on the environment.

Avoid disposable straws like the plague. Americans use about 500 million plastic straws EVERY. DAY. That's wild. And easily avoidable.

Buy in bulk. It uses less packaging and requires fewer trips to the store.

Got a lightbulb that's burned out? Pick up an LED bulb as a replacement. It'll last basically forever, and it's way more energy efficient.

Update your underwear. You're probably in need of some new drawers for your drawer, so pick a pair that helps out the environment. Marc Skid underwear uses one recycled water bottle in every waistband and donates $4 of every purchase to a charity of your choice. Pick one of the three organizations that save the world and your undies could be planting trees or purifying water.

There ya have it. Hey, it probably took more effort to read this than it will be to celebrate Earth Day. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
