“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world” – Anne Frank. Marc Skid’s founder, Dan Barry, took this observation so closely to heart that he has included it on the packaging of Marc Skid underwear. The simply but profound statement of the famous teenaged diarist resembles an ancient truism: "Don't just stand there, do something!" Today's young people have made it a reality through a new organization bearing the beautifully appropriate title Do Something. The website of this group proudly describes itself as “a digital platform powering offline action.”
Those actions include a campaign to encourage voting that register 118,706 new voters in 2018; the creation of an anti-bullying guide; a “Give A Spit About Cancer” program that added 16,793 people to the bone marrow registry; a “Teens for Jeans” that donated over one million pairs of jeans to needy people; and an ecologically conscious “Get the Filter Out” (GTFO) campaign that cleaned up 3.7 million cigarette butts from the ground to protect the earth. This organization made history with its “Power to the Period” drive that donated 585,965 menstrual care products to homeless ladies.
Boasting millions of young members, Do Something puts out weekly newsletter called WYD for “What You’re Doing.” The organization asserts that it has “members making change in every US area code and 131 countries.” Hopefully, those members will learn about a way they can continue their good works – and make themselves wonderfully comfy at the same time – by wearing Marc Skid underwear. Do Something is doing a great deal of good in the same areas to which Marc Skid contributes through our campaigns to Feed, Cure, and Save this world. Together, committed people need not wait a single moment to Make our Marc!
